St Oswald's church in Grasmere - the first church in Grasmere was founded by Oswald of Northumbria, King of Northumbria, in 642. The present church stands in the same or nearby area and is dedicated to St Oswald. It comes from the 14 century. The church stands on the banks of the Rothay River.
